Healthy Tips For A Healthy Summer
1. Stay cool and hydrated.
The summer heat makes you more susceptible to dehydration. When you get up in the morning, drink at least two glasses of water and keep drinking water through out the day. Make sure you get at least 8 glasses of water a day. Carry a water bottle with you to remind you to stay hydrate.
2. Protect your skin.
Getting exposure to the sun is a good thing because you get Vitamin D. However, overexposure can cause health problem (skin cancer). Protect your skin from the sun by using sunscreens and wearing a hat. Use a sun cream lotion of at least SPF 30.
3. Let’s get physical.
This is a good time to start an exercise program. Exercising is important for keeping the heart strong and healthy and to burn some body fat. Take a walk in a city park, bike, swim, or get a gym membership. Do some indoor housework like dusting, vacuuming, mopping, & so on to stay active while you keep your home looking good.
4. Eat healthy meals.
This is not the time to eat hot heavy foods. Eat more vegetables and fruits. Healthy smoothies are great refreshment. Don’t skip breakfast. Eating a healthy breakfast that includes protein, carbs, and healthy fat can increase your metabolism into high gear and provides you with energy for the day.
5. Give your home a summer cleaning.
You need an environment that reflects your healthy way this summer. To start, remove unhealthy foods from your home/refrigerator. Stock your home with fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, and other healthy snacks.
